Deb 10th August 2016

So very sad to read of Sara's death. This time last year, she and I were going through the same chemotherapy for breast cancer. Her treatment was two weeks ahead of mine, so she always reported back how it felt. We shared so much in those months and bolstered each other through chemotherapy, through the terror of both having our 6th and final chemos cancelled and our surgery brought forward, through the aftermath of that surgery and through the long slog of radiotherapy. Sara's strength, stoicism, wit and resilience were both an amazing inspiration and a great support to me. It was a strange and unpredictable journey we shared. I am just so sorry that our ways then parted and her illness veered off in this desolate direction. Even then, she never complained but instead coped with the most enormous good grace and acceptance in the face of such random cruel misfortune. I will never forget Sara's vibrant and positive spirit. We all can learn so much, not only from how well she lived, but also from how well she died. RIP Sara. See you on down the road.
